Our Poppy Display, created by hand with love and hard work.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the wonderful poppies on display in and around the library and outside the church.
An incredible amount of time, skill and hard work went into this beautiful commemoration.
Each of the 92 poppies outside the library represent a name on the war memorial at the top of the Mound. Each leaf bears a name.
There are a further 25 plaques in the church grounds commemorating the fallen.
We are sure you will agree this is a beautiful memorial to all those who fell in both world wars from Dreghorn and Springside.
The poppies were knitted by Effie Kerr, Meg McWilliams and Annella from the Black Isle, which they started in July. All the displays were constructed by Lynn Logan. The 92 leaves on the poppies outside the library were beautifully decorated by 5th Dreghorn Brownies and Guides. The post box topper was crocheted by Lynn Logan. The poppy painted stones along the church path were coloured by 5th Dreghorn Brownies and Guides. Thanks to John Logan and Wallace Blair for helping to hang and secure the poppy net over the church wall.
The poppy display hanging inside the library was made by the Dreghorn Library Knitting group a few years ago.
