Go in peace, Go in joy, Go in love
My Dear Friends
This is the last service I will conduct among you. For that matter, today marks the conclusion of my ministry among you. It is difficult to convey in words the multitude of feelings I have for you. The deep sense of gratitude that you took me into your homes and allowed me to share in many personal family experiences; an overwhelming sense of fun, like the banter at the church gate on a Sunday morning; a deep sense of shared worship, especially during the Sacraments.
I will never forget the Young Church, these special services throughout the year and the pioneering work of the Starlights. But there were also troubled days when dark shadows hid our path. I only hope that on such occasions I was able to bring the comfort of the gospel into a darkened scene.
Today, after 56 years, marks the close of my ministry. I am so grateful that this personal moment is taking place among such a warm-hearted congregation as you have proved to be.
Finally my friends, as our paths of faith and life go separate ways, may I seek God's blessing upon you, as a congregation, in your homes with your loved ones, and simply in your own personal lives. May God bless you as a congregation in your new ministry.
May God keep you personally safe in the arms of Jesus.
God bless you.
What we have once enjoyed we can never lose.
All that we love deeply, becomes a part of us.
