Details of how our church will reach out to continue worship during the coronavirus pandemic

Dial a Sermon – 01294 444337

During the Corona virus outbreak the Dreghorn and Springside Parish Church weekly service will be available on your telephone.  The number to dial is 01294 444337.  As it is a local number calls will be charged at a local rate.  If have free minutes the call should not cost you anything.

Members who receive CD’s will continue to do so, this service is a temporary measure for those who cannot access internet but are not on the CD distribution list.

The call starts with an automated welcome message and then there is a slight pause before the service starts.  The service this week includes Bible reading, sermon and prayers for ourselves and others.  This week’s service is 16 minutes in length.

If you know of anyone who does not have access to the internet or receive the CD’s but would like to hear the service, then please pass this number on.

Keeping Our Faith

We have developed a number of ways to continue to worship and keep in touch during this period of physical distancing.  Please keep in touch and keep your faith strong.

Our virtual church

To allow you to continue to worship during this difficult phase we have created a virtual church.  We will upload audio services, prayers, video and links to other useful websites, including resources for children.

We have a Twitter account @DregSprChurch.  If you’re not following us already and you have the means to do so, then please do.

We also have a private Facebook group, ‘Dreghorn and Springside Parish Church Members and Adherents’.  This group enables us to stay connected, caring, encouraging one another and worshipping.  Thanks to everyone who has joined and those who have posted.  There’s some great songs and artwork and posts.  Please do join us.

Church services, meetings and church groups cancelled until further notice

Pray, keep in contact and care

Members and friends are encouraged to pray, keep in contact with, and care for others through these unprecedented times.  There is a sample prayer here.  As we pray, we are also encouraged to reflect on how we can be the answers to our own prayers.  One of the ways of providing support is by staying in touch by phone and electronic means.  There is a good chance we do not hold the phone numbers for some of the most vulnerable in our congregation and we are trying to gather as many phone numbers and email addresses as we can.

We have prepared a Corona Virus Care Form which can be downloaded by clicking on this link Corona Virus Care Form.  This is a data protection request form for members and adherents to provide additional contact details from what we already have your permission to hold. Please print off, complete and return as directed.  Please keep in touch with the Minister and your elder.

If you become ill

If you become ill then please follow the NHS guidance found at the following website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/.  In addition, please also contact the Rev Milliken, we can be praying for you and if necessary, we can take further support actions.

And please keep looking after the most vulnerable and trusting in our God.
