Our Church has now reopened find out more about about the options for worship

Thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to enable our church buildings to re-open.  It has been a considerable task.  We continue to go through a time of rapid change in relation to the COVID situation and we’ll endeavour to bring you updates here.

We look forward to your ongoing worship with us, whether that continues to be online, by CD or by physically worshipping in our building.  Should you decide to attend worship in our building, there continues to be many responsibilities placed on us and the following information is provided to ensure you are aware of the procedure and are prepared for this.

When in the grounds and buildings of our congregation please adhere to the following instructions and guidelines.  These are in place to ensure we minimise the risk of virus transmission.

  • Please put on a face mask before you enter buildings and wear it correctly for the duration of your time there. If you are exempt from wearing a face mask, please keep your exemption on display.
  • Physical distancing should be maintained at all times.
  • You will be asked to provide your name and a contact telephone number on the Track and Trace information sheet at the Session House door.
  • You will be guided to enter the church building through the east wing door where hand sanitiser is available, please make us of this before entering the building.
  • A Covid 19 volunteer will the show you to a seat. Please do not move to another area after you have been seated.  Areas not in use are denoted with barrier tape.
  • We are currently permitted to sing and make responses, please ensure that you continue to wear a face mask while doing so.
  • At the end of the service please remain seated until a Covid 19 volunteer shows you how and when to leave the church building.
  • Floor stickers are displayed to denote directions of travel, we work with a one-way system to maintain flow of movement throughout our buildings.
  • We will leave the building via the west wing door.
  • To aid ventilation, doors will remain open for the duration of the service.
  • Should you wish to make your offering, you will find collection boxes available as you enter or leave the building. Please make use of these.
  • If Bibles and hymn books are used, please place them in the box provided as you leave the building.
  • If you become unwell during the service, please let one of our volunteers know and support will be given to you.
  • Please do not attend worship if you are suffering from any one of the following COVID-19 symptoms: new continuous cough, fever, loss of taste or smell.

At the time of writing, these restrictions are in keeping with the Scottish Government and Church of Scotland guidance relating to worship.  It is likely that this guidance will change over time, with restrictions increasing and decreasing in accordance with the threat level of the virus.  We will continue to comply with guidance and endeavour to keep you informed of this.

Your participation in the life, faith, community, work, witness and worship of our congregation is very precious, we wish to include you as best possible while at the same time recognising that there continues to be risks.  We take our responsibility towards one another seriously and as such seek to continue to include as many as possible, as safely as is possible.

Throughout all of this we give thanks to God for the wisdom and discernment He gives as difficult decisions are made and for His ongoing faithfulness through times of adversity.  Wherever you are, and however you join us in worship, may God’s presence be known to you, and His name be praised.
