They shall grow not old as we who are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
Our annual Remembrance Day Service on Sunday November 10th was, as usual, a solemn and poignant event during which we honoured those who made the ultimate sacrifice in all conflicts from WW1 onward and reflected on the loss suffered by their families. We also remembered all those brave men and women who have suffered physical and mental injuries in the service of their country.
The service was conducted by the Rev Tom Cant with members of the congregation taking part. At 11 o'clock the two minutes silence was observed and following this wreaths were laid at the five memorial plaques in the church by members of the congregation, the Guides, the Boys Brigade and the Dreghorn Loyal Defenders LOL No 218. The choir sang 'Let there be Peace on Earth' and the lessons were read by Mr Stuart Neil, BB Captain.
